The surname MORATO has been linked to the ham industry in Los Santos de Maimona ( a town in the Extremadura region )for more than 100 years. The grand father of the current propietors, Félix Morato Carranza, started the family business about the year 1898 in a small house where he dedicated his time to killing and sale of pork meat. He soon gained a reputation for his high quality meats. The industry continued to grow, finally reaching its present day size. It counts on a workforce of 30 people who carry out their work using highly tecnological equipment.

Meat production follows the traditional methods of natural cure drying of hams and other cold meats using typical ingredients from the Extremadura region.

All of this makes EMBUTIDOS MORATO a leader within the sector of traditional pork products.
